March 17, 2012 will forever go down in history as one sad day for Nigerian music as the end of Mo’hits – a music group that had brought so much accolade to the country and the African continent – was announced by Don Jazzy. In his E! VIP documentary aired on Sunday night, D’banj revealed what really happened behind close doors in regards to the breakup. Although his revelation wasn’t far-fetched from what he disclosed to Olisa Adibua on the latter’s The Truth show in January 2015, the pop star however said something this time that struck us.
He explained that the break up was ‘more of a divorce’ as ‘the children (Dr Sid, Wande Coal, and D’Prince) didn’t want to be with him anymore’
He then expressed how shattered he felt.
“I was heartbroken,” he said. Clad in an all white ensemble, a fur neck wrap, wearing a vintage gold round sunglasses along with his gold neck chains,
D’banj went head on to address the rumoured fling with Real Housewives of Atlanta star, Kenya Moore.
He acknowledged Moore as a friend but claimed he was as shocked at the rumours because that’s all there was to it. “I know her. She is my friend. I was almost going on her show to tell her what’s up because i heard they said i was the man, the
prince. I am a prince but easy Tiger, emi ko ni mo wa ni ibeyen na (I am not the one there)”
The petition was filed against Maje Ayida back in
March, 2016. She listed a number of reasons why she
made the move. Chief among them were adultery,
cruelty and irreconcilable differences. In it, she

She alleged that Maje made claims of not having
money to take care of her or pay the bills in the
house but was able to finance the birth of his child
from Anita. She stated that Maje did not pay the rent
on two occasions and as a result the landlord came
to embarrass her.
She alleged that she lost a huge endorsement
opportunity worth N20m with a telecoms company
because of the negativity that followed the 2015
scandal. That she was treated with disdain and was
never consulted for any business dealings whereas
Maje was consulting with Anita.
She alleged that any slight complaint from her
resulted in nagging and verbal abuse and the use of
vulgar words even in front of their domestic staff.
She alleges that Maje has repeatedly sent text
messages to Anita Solomon inviting her to live with

A Federal High Court sitting in Lagos has slammed
an injunction against the rising musical artiste
Douglas Jack-Agu aka “Runtown“. The injunction
prevents him from performing at any event or any
form of recording for the time being unless with the
approval of Ericmany Limited.
Runtown is signed under the Ericmany
Entertainment label that presently holds the
copyright to all his music. He was sued in the
Federal High Court by Ericmany on allegations that
he signs up, concludes and attends musical shows
without the knowledge of the label.
Ericmany Entertainment was said to have invested
millions of naira on Runtown. However trouble
started when Runtown apparently with the
connivance of Bug Media ran by one Bugwu Aneto
began to sideline Ericmany and collected money

Chocolate City Group this morning, at an earlier
announced press conference, unveiled two music
labels Super Cool Cats and JagzNation as record
label imprints under the popular Chocolate City
Music label; becoming the first African record label
to follow in the footsteps of international heavy
weights such as Universal Music and Sony Music
Group. The two labels are owned and headed by Ice
Prince and Jesse Jagz respectively. Arguably the most powerful record label on the continent and now the most structured; Chocolate City Music CEO – Jude “MI” Abaga, answered the questions of an impressive gathering of press men and tackled live questions from fans on social media who were keen to know how the relationship between Chocolate City Music, Ice Prince and Jesse Jagz would unfold going forward. The press were eager to know about the breaking away of two of the most popular artistes on the label, to which MI replied by saying it was not a
destruction of Chocolate City, but an investment in
the two new imprints towards building an empire
emphasizing that this announcement has been in the
works for months and it is easier for both prolific
artistes to keep up with the pace of their creativity
when under their own independent labels.
According to Ice Prince “Super Cool Cats is beyond a music label, as we are already working with fashion
designers, video directors etc.; it is in fact a full
platform for different expressions of the arts” He
also mentioned that he is already working on an
urban line with Seyi Sanusi popularly known as
“Sneaker Boy”. Jesse Jagz was cool, calm and all
smiles as he told the press that being an artist under
a large label limits his creativity, but that having his
own record label gives him more creative freedom
and control on his content. MI, who gave an illustration of the relationship between Aftermath Entertainment, Records, Shady Records and G Unit Records, encouraged the press to do more research on music labels globally to find out how well structured and diverse they all are. He also responded to a question that he is still a recording artiste and has been in the studio working on new singles and an album to be released very soon. MI wrapped up the conference by responding to a fan tweet about Milli’s exit; explaining that the rapper was not dropped from the label, but left amicably and that Milli will be in the best position to answer about what he is up to now. With the press conference anchored by Ehiz
Okoeguale of MTV Base, the record label was able
put to rest rumours about an ugly spat with Ice
Prince, and gave fans and industry watchers
information about the various upcoming releases
and events from the Chocolate City family to look out for.
Addressing the dating rumours about her and Falz in
an interview with Hip TV, Singer Simi when asked if
she is romantically linked with Falz, she replied
saying Falz is a friennd with nothing else to it.
“Would I mind dating Falz? He is a human being. And
when I say we haven’t thought about it, because why
would you be thinking of something that is not – like
in the book? Falz is my friend and that’s all that there is to it. You can interview me in another world and I can give you an answer in that world. But for this world, cut!”
In a recent interview with Punch, Burna Boy’s mum
blasted Uju Stella for claiming the singer impregnated her. Burna Boy’s mum said, “My son has never said anything concerning the issue, he has never said a word, maybe there was a song at the background of the video that he posted online but he has never said a word concerning the issue. What you know is what we know basically and my take on it is that we would rather just focus on his music which primarily affects his life than that. In Africa, it is not a criminal offence for someone to be pregnant for somebody. If somebody says that she is pregnant for somebody and the person refuses to accept it, you look for his family instead of tagging a blogger.
We have nothing to say to her. We don’t know
anything about any child. She can never come to
me, she has already gone to the blogger; she can
never come to me. It is not new; these girls come
up from time to time with different claims. My
position on this is ‘no comment’ Anybody can claim anything that they want to claim. We have absolutely nothing to say, Burna Boy is a musician and we want to focus on his music. Nobody has time for her. We saw all the reports online but we just chose to look the other way. In this industry, girls are always coming up with pregnancy claims, we see it every day. We are not bothered and we have no comment.”
Uju fired back at the singer’s mum. Read what she
